Discovery of the “Métro! The Grand Paris in Motion” Exhibition by IUVTT Master’s Students

On Monday February 12, the Master IUVTT students, from different geographical and cultural backgrounds, were in Paris for an English-language tour of the “Métro! Le Grand Paris en mouvement” exhibition at the Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine.

Throughout their English sessions at the school, the students worked on the “Smart Cities” theme, developing a topic of their choice to be presented in English.

For Jérôme DIGUET, their teacher, the trip was an exciting way of completing this work by discovering this exhibition “devoted to the metro, its history and the urban transformations linked to it. […] The exhibition’s aim is to take an interest in mobility as well as urbanity. It combines the history of technology, visionary projects and the fictional universe linked to the metro, projecting visitors into a new mental map of Greater Paris,” which is one of today’s world’s biggest urban transformation projects. The day continued with a walk through Hausmannian Paris. This active pedagogy is at the heart of language teaching at ENSGSI.
