Geographical Location

Located just a 10-minute walk from downtown and served by the trolleybus line, ENSGSI benefits from an ideal geographical location highly appreciated by students. In collaboration with the European School of Materials Engineering (EEIGM) and the National School of Architecture (ENSA), it forms a mini “Meurthe-Canal Campus” in a neighbourhood undergoing urban renewal. In addition to university residences managed by CROUS, numerous public and private residences are available in the neighborhood and its surroundings.

  • In France, student accommodation is not directly managed by the universities themselves. The CROUS (Centre Régional des Oeuvres Universitaires et Scolaires / Regional Center for Student Affairs) is in charge of the management of student residences.

    In Nancy, the CROUS (Regional Center for University and School Affairs) manages 12 university residences (totaling over 5600 accommodations ranging from single rooms to studios) as well as approximately 200 social housing units.

    Note: Facilities vary depending on the residence… Typically, all traditional university residences offer study rooms, meeting rooms, or relaxation areas (TV, etc.) and have a cafeteria for breakfasts.

  • It is, of course, possible to rent an apartment through an agency or directly from an individual. The rental market is vast, and it is not difficult to find accommodation if you start looking early enough. Many organisations provide students with offers reserved for them.

    The Student Office of ENSGSI has established a partnership with Bed & School, an agency specialising in student accommodation rental. Contact them at 03 54 16 10 66.

    The University of Lorraine provides its students with a housing platform that centralises offers from private owners, individuals, real estate agencies, and student residences around the campuses. University students log in using their University of Lorraine credentials (Sesame). New students must personally create their account with their personal email address and a password of their choice. They will then need to validate their account with a registration key: HOUSINGLORRAINE.”

  • Many students choose to opt for flat share.

    Bubbleflat is a platform entirely dedicated to flatsharing.

  • The association Un Toit 2 Générations aims to promote the development of intergenerational housing by facilitating the sharing of accommodation between a senior person living alone and a young individual in search of affordable housing.

    Colibree Intergeneration also offers matchmaking between students and retirees.

  • They are unique in that they are communal living areas. Applications should be sent directly to the hostels

Eating out is easy in the area. The Stanislas university restaurant (RU) is reputed to be the best in the city!
A shopping centre and convenience stores are located in the immediate vicinity of ENSGSI.
A fridge and a microwave are available to students on the ground floor of the school.
