ERPI Research Lab

ENSGSI benefits from a first-rate scientific environment thanks to its membership of the Université de Lorraine.

Our students benefit from the expertise of researchers in the sciences, as well as in the history and philosophy of science and technology.

They become engineers who are aware that reducing deadlines, keeping up with technical developments, controlling costs, respecting the environment, and accelerating and sustaining the pace of project emergence are all constraints and paradoxes facing project managers.

Modules derived from research activities are also applied by engineering students to their industrial projects: management of technological resources; assessment of capacity to innovate; innovation through use; inventive design… and they have access to equipment obtained through research: multi-material 3D printers, 3D scanners, eye tracking, immersive spaces…

Innovative Processes Research Team (ERPI)

ENSGSI’s origins lie in the work of the Industrial Systems Engineering Research Laboratory (Laboratoire de Recherche en Génie des Systèmes Industriels), now known as the ERPI laboratory (Equipe de Recherche sur les Processus Innovatifs), and it draws on the latter to develop the school’s scientific approach to innovative processes.

ERPI is one of the 61 laboratories of the University of Lorraine, and ENSGSI’s relationship with it is a long-standing one. The results of ERPI’s research were instrumental in the creation of the school, and continue to feed into its pedagogy. Conversely, the projects of ENSGSI engineering students serve as exploratory and observational fields for the laboratory.

In addition to ERPI, all ENSGSI’s support laboratories are called upon to provide resources for industrial projects.
